FINAL EXAMINATION

Outlines for Final examination preparation

The examination format is as follows:

Theory:

It consists of total three papers of 100 marks each, out of which 20 marks in internal
assessment and 80 marks in final.

  • Paper 1: Applied Basic Science
  • Paper 2: Principles of Surgery and Operative Surgery
  • Paper 3: Surgical Management and Surgical Pathology

Practical:

200 marks final exam only

Day – 1
1. Practical
a) Time : 8:00 AM
b) Long case :

i) 45 mins each ( 45mins per resident)
ii) ( 9;00 to 11:30 AM)

c) Short cases: ( 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM)

i) 4 cases per resident
ii) Time: 15 mins each station )

Day- 2

2. Table viva:

Tables : 5 tables : 15 minutes each table
(1) General/ GI;
(2) Urology/CTVS;
(3) Specialties ( Neuro/Plastic/Paediatric)
(4) Principles of surgery/ Emergency surgery
(5) Recent advances/ biostatics

(THERE MAY BE SLIGHT CHANGE IN THE FORMAT BASED ON THE PREFERENCE OF THE EXAMINERS)
